The California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) is presenting an Estate and Trust Planning Virtual Conference on July 12-16, 2021, and Bridgeford Trust is excited to be speaking at this upcoming event!

CalCPA is the largest statewide professional association of certified public accountants in the United States with more than 42,000 members. During the Estate and Trust Planning Virtual Conference (presented in five, 4-hour days), you’ll hear from national experts who are dedicated to keeping CPAs, attorneys and financial planners on top of recent developments related to COVID-19, the new administration’s plans, the SECURE Act, tax hazards, as well as changes within estate and trust planning.

Join Bridgeford Trust, as one of the presenters, at the July 12th presentation entitled, “Dealing with Trusts and California Taxes” taking place at 9:20am PST. Presenters include David Warren, Co-Founder and Chairman of Bridgeford Trust Company along with Jonathan Lurie, Partner at Venable LLP; Elliot Shell, Partner at Maginnis Knechtel & McIntyre LLP; and Elham Ardestani, Tax & Wealth Planning Associate at Venable LLP.

During this session, the presenters will discuss the avoidance of California income taxation for trusts and beneficiaries including basic rules and the selection of trustees, protectors, distribution committee, special trustees and the relationship among them. They will go on to discuss decanting (migrating) California trusts to states with little or no income tax and look at considerations and issues regarding structure, the selection of trustee, and preparation for FTB evaluation.

Registration is still open and the agenda is customizable to fit your needs. You can learn more about the sessions and register by clicking here.
